Market Assessment and Feasibility Study for IGA Scheme
Commissioning Organization: Salu Training and Rehabilitation Charity Association for Visually and Physically Impaired Partner Organization: Lelt Foundation Duty Station: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia Duration: 20 Working Days Deadline: 10 days from this announcement
Overview
Salu Training and Rehabilitation Charity Association, in partnership with the Lelt Foundation, is seeking a qualified consultant to conduct a comprehensive Market Assessment and Feasibility Study for its Income Generation Activity (IGA) scheme. The assignment aims to guide Salu’s transition toward financial sustainability by evaluating core production tracks (hand-woven carpets/mats, tailoring, eco-woodcraft) and exploring broader, high-demand, disability-inclusive product markets. Crucially, the study will also investigate structural market barriers that prevented past vocational trainees (e.g., hand-woven carpet graduates) from securing employment, providing actionable strategies to ensure future trainees successfully transition into sustainable livelihoods.
Key Tasks
• Collaborate with Salu and Lelt Foundation focal persons during the inception phase to frame core evaluation questions. • Diagnose post-training employment barriers experienced by past graduates to inform enterprise design. • Assess market demand, competitor landscapes, raw material supply chains, and pricing models for existing and potential goods. • Develop a 3-year market-backed financial model and operational roadmap.
Qualifications Required
• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Enterprise Development, Marketing, or related fields. • Minimum 5 years of experience in market assessments, feasibility studies, or social enterprise development in Ethiopia. • Demonstrated experience in disability-inclusive economic empowerment and vocational-to-employment transitions. • Fluency in English and local languages.
How to Apply
Interested individual consultants or firms should submit their technical and financial proposals, CV(s), and a sample of previous relevant work within 10 days of this posting to:[email protected]
