Key Impact: Key Performance Indicators • First-time repair success and repeat-fault rate. • Equipment downtime attributable to electrical faults. • Timeliness of diagnosis and repair. • Accuracy of service records and spare-parts usage. • Compliance with electrical and workshop safety procedures.

Task Breakdown: • Diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical and electronic systems in vehicles and construction equipment to maximize reliability, safety, and availability. • Diagnose faults in starting, charging, lighting, wiring, instrumentation, control, and electronic systems. • Repair or replace wiring harnesses, alternators, starters, batteries, sensors, and other approved components. • Use diagnostic tools, wiring diagrams, and test instruments to identify root causes of faults. • Conduct preventive inspections and electrical servicing according to maintenance schedules. • Record work completed, parts used, test results, and outstanding defects. • Guide junior technicians and follow electrical isolation, battery handling, and workshop safety procedures.

Years of Experience: Typically 8-10– years of vehicle or heavy-equipment auto-electrical experience Relevant Experience: diagnostic experience is required.

Technical Skills: • Automotive electrical diagnosis and repair. • Use of multimeters, testers, and diagnostic equipment. • Reading wiring diagrams and technical manuals. • Troubleshooting and mentoring junior staff. • Accuracy, safety discipline, and practical problem-solving.

Educational Requirements: TVET qualification in Automotive Electricity, Auto Electrics, Electrical Technology, or a related field.
